Steps to become a study tour homestay
Step 1 Homestay study tour application
Please read the Code of Conduct and Quality Service Expectations carefully.
Complete the Homestay Study Tour Application form. Please ensure that you answer every question.
Step 2 Submit your form
Submit your Homestay Study Tour Application form and copies of all current Child Related Employment Screening*.
If you and/or other persons over the age of 18 residing in your home already have a current Child Related Employment Screening OR South Australian Teacher Registration Certificate, please provide a copy with your Homestay Study Tour Application form.
*All persons over the age of 18 residing in your home (except international students studying in a South Australian government school) are required to have a Child Related Employment Screening from the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) which is valid for 3 years..
Step 3 Child Related Employment Screening
If you and/or other persons over the age of 18 residing in your home (except international students studying in a South Australian government school) do not have a current Child Related Employment Screening, your school will initiate your screening application online with the DCSI Screening Unit. DCSI will send you an email to activate and complete your screening application.
Step 4 Home visit and interview
The final step to become a study tour homestay is a visit and interview in your home. Once your application has been assessed and satisfactory criminal history screening/s has been received, your school study tour coordinator will contact you to arrange a home visit and interview. They will explain your obligations in more detail and answer any questions that you may have.
