Kalok arrived from Hong Kong to commence his South Australian study abroad experience in 2011. His studies began with an Intensive Secondary English Course (ISEC). Before long he was ready to study alongside the other Year 9 students at Henley High School and kick start his adventure into Performing Arts.
Five years later after graduating from Henley High School in 2014, Kalok has successfully received an artist traineeship at Television Broadcasting Ltd in Hong Kong. He was selected for one of 8 traineeships out of 1400 applicants!
In Hong Kong, Kalok had studied music and visual arts but it was not until he arrived into Adelaide, South Australia that he had the opportunity to enrol in Performing Arts at school and study Dance and Drama.
Kalok’s homestay, Kris, and host school, Henley High School, are immensely proud of his achievements. Kris wrote to his school International Student Program manager, saying: “so much of Kalok’s success is due to your encouragement and teaching, together with your persistence and belief in him”.
Kalok is a positive testimony for why international education is so important. View his amazing Year 12 choreography performance here!
