To celebrate their International Student Program and cultural diversity, Charles Campbell College holds an International Assembly each year.
This year, the event was held in May and was hosted by the International Captains, Heming Guo and Nina Fan, both wearing Chinese national dress and was attended by a number of official guests including the Hon. Jennifer Rankine MP, Minister for Education and Child Development and Minister for Multicultural Affairs.
The whole school got involved in a variety of performances and presentations.
The school Amnesty International Group gave a thought-provoking presentation and some of the World Challenge Team participants from the trip to Cambodia in 2012 shared their insights into travelling to, and helping out, in an orphanage.
The audience was treated to a number of special student performances:
- An impressive tango demonstration by a Year 12 Selective Entry student, and his dance partner
- ‘True Colours’ sung by a Year 10 student
- violin music of Iran by an Iranian student
- African chant by the Senior Vocal Ensemble with solo performance
- Nigerian rhythms by the World Drumming Group with solos by performed on djembe and dun-dun drums
