Academic Excellence Award Winner!!

Congratulations to Shiyao, an outstanding student and very worthy recipient of the Governor’s Schools Award for Academic Excellence.  The Governor’s International Student Awards were presented by the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce, at Government House on Friday the 25th October, 2013.

Shiyao is a Year 11 Adelaide High School student from China who one day hopes to study medicine and help underprivileged people. She is enrolled as an international student on our High School Graduate Program and has been studying in Adelaide for 2 years now.

Throughout her studies, Shiyao has maintained a very high academic level of success and has been awarded the Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Academic Achievement on multiple occasions. She also achieved a high distinction in the Australian Mathematics Competition placing her in the top 1% of competitors across South Australia.

Shiyao is an International Prefect at Adelaide High School and recently represented her school at the Adelaide International Women’s Day Breakfast hosted by Senator Penny Wong.  Also elected as a Peer Leader, Shiyao encourages other international students to learn more about the Australian culture to help them settle in to their new environment.

South Australian Government Schools is very proud of Shiyao achievements!
