Keren’s comment on her success
‘Be yourself, is the quote written on a note, stuck on my bookshelf. The hard work has finally paid off when I was awarded the Academic Excellence in 2014 the Governor’s International Student Awards. I could not even explain what a great honour it had been for me to be awarded the ‘Extraordinary Commendation for the International Student of the Year’ when another outstanding university student was the final winner. Honestly, I can hardly imagine what I would be like, if I didn’t choose Glenunga three years ago.  Now I am confident to say proudly that that was the right decision which I have never regretted. It has been a wonderful time at the Glenunga community, with so many supportive teachers and staff members. The final exams are around the corner and it is time to say goodbye to Glenunga. There is still a long way to go and I am ready to undertake new challenges.’

After graduating from high school this year, Keren hopes hope to study medicine and contribute  to the community as a doctor.

Yiyi’s comment on her success
‘I was really happy to be awarded the Highly Commended Student in the Academic Excellence category. I’ve undertaken a number of challenges and was persistent enough to keep up with them.  I found lots of choices I made really rewarding, and I would have chosen the same things if given another chance. I live by the famous quote by Robert Frost: “But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.” At the end of the day it is about the promises we made to ourselves and goals we set out to achieve. And if something is driving us to do more than we possibly can or be far better than who we are, it has to come from our heart, our young and brave, forever-beating heart, yearning for knowledge and a beautiful life.’

We are very proud of both girls’ achievements and wish them all the best for their future studies!
