The 2012 Credit Union Christmas Pageant will be taking place on the streets of Adelaide, South Australia at 9:30am, Saturday 10 November 2012. The theme for this year is ‘It’s going to be big’! The entire South Australian community is invited to bring their biggest smiles and waves as they celebrate the 80th year since the first Pageant and prepare to welcome Father Christmas and a myriad of floats, walking sets, bands, dancing groups, choirs and clowns.
The 2012 Credit Union Christmas Pageant starts from South Terrace at 9:30am and finishes at North Terrace at approximately 11.20am.
The route is 3.3 kilometers long – when Father Christmas enters King William Street from South Terrace, the first set is well past the Magic Cave at David Jones on North Terrace. For about 10 minutes, the Pageant takes over the whole of King William Street from South Terrace to Victoria Square and Flinders Street to North Terrace.
Over 120 talented artists are set to apply make-up to more than 1000 characters before the procession kicks off and more than 3500 volunteers will work hard to ensure that everyone has a fun and happy day.

In 2012, the Credit Union Christmas Pageant will celebrate its 80th year!
The Credit Union Christmas Pageant has broken records, lifted spirits during the Great Depression and been attended by an Australian Prime Minister. This year, it celebrates 80 years. The first Pageant in 1933 had eight floats and four bands. While it has evolved since then, the Pageant still brings together all South Australians to celebrate the beginning of the festive season. Its continued success over the last 80 years is largely due to the creativity of its artists and the commitment of Credit Union staff and volunteers.
See you there!
